Press Release Summary: USA tends to be a big favorite as far as Olympic Gold medals
go. But in these Games, China has proven to be very superior. And only with six days
to go from the closing ceremony, the difference between the two nations seems to be
irreversible.

Press Release Body: Beijing, China, August 18th. Only six days away from the closing
ceremony of the Olympic Games and the difference of gold medals between China and
the USA keeps growing.

As of Monday morning, the United States was the country with the most medals won,
having won a total of 72, while China was a close second with a 67 total medals.
The Chinese, however, have been far superior in the gold medal department, having
stepped up to the tallest podium a total of 39 times to the Americans 22.

One of the most remarkable aspects of this medal count is the fact that more than a
third of the total medals for the US have been won by a single Athlete: Michael
Phelps, who received the highest honor a total of eight times, breaking a 30 year
old record and making Olympic history.

United States is always a big favorite, and usually takes home the most gold medals
in the Olympics. But this time, China has proven their hunger for gold; and with
only six days left, the difference between the two nations seems to be irreversible.
